Why not spend your vacation in Kota Beach, better known as Camp Sawi, which was the setting for the movie "Camp Sawi" and is located in Sta. Fe, Cebu's Bantayan Island? With its white dunes, crystal blue water, and lack of crowds, you can certainly appreciate the serenity of the location.

So, where is Kota Beach and Bantayan Island, and how do you get there... Bantayan Island is located in the northern region of the Philippines.

 

One of the several resorts on Bantayan Island is Kota Beach in Santa Fe, Cebu. The tall Camp Sawi sign that greets you as you enter the driveway, however, is courtesy of the breakup-themed film starring Andi Eigenmann, Bela Padilla, and others.

Bantayan, Madredijos, and Sta. Maria are the three municipalities that make up the province of Cebu. Fe. The majority of my time in Bantayan is spent in Sta. We visited Fe, where Kota Beach is located, as well as Bantayan Island, for a one-day tour.

At 4:00 a.m., we board the luxurious first excursion to Hagnaya. The journey takes 3 to 4 hours. The first journey to Bantayan departs at 3:30 a.m., while the last excursion departs at 5:00 p.m.

After a 4-hour land journey, you will arrive at the Hagnaya port, where you will board a Roro or ferry to Bantayan Island. The trip takes 1 hour and costs $170 plus a $10 terminal fee. The Hagnaya to sta. roro schedule. The first journey to Fe is at 3:00 a.m., and the last trip is at 5:30 a.m.

 

You won't have to worry about transportation once you get on Bantayan Island because there are plenty of trike and "sikad-sikad" drivers waiting to take you to your chosen resort. The trike fare is 20 PHP per person.

 

If you have made a reservation with your resort, they will provide you with a land transfer from the Bantayan port to your hotel. To prevent waiting, I recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

 

We arrived at the dock at 9 a.m. and decided to stay at Kota Beach, but because we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait until 1 p.m. to get our accommodation. While we waited, we explored Sta. Fe and go shopping at their market.
